Workshop in Halifax with John Beale July 8th, 9th and 10th Friday 6pm-9pm Saturday and Sunday 11am -5pm
A    study    of    showing    up,    being    open, sensitive,     vulnerable,     ridiculous     and human,   finding   your   special   quality   that connects     you     to     others,     opening     a channel   between   you   and   them,   being present   and   engaging.   This   work   helps us   get   unstuck.   It   teaches   us   to   listen,   to re-discover   play,   not   to   push   too   much or    shy    away    but    to    let    go    and    be attuned to the moment. To be, not do.
Although     derived     from     performance training   this   is   a   rudimentary   practice for       anyone.       New       and       returning students   work   side   by   side.   Each   time the   work   is   revisited   something   new   is found.   The   skills   learned   can   be   applied anywhere.    For    performers    and    non- performers.
Actors,   dancers,   filmmakers,   painters,   musicians,   writers,   stand-up   comics,   poets, teachers,     acrobats,     lawyers,     clowns,     doctors,     public     speakers,     life     coaches, facilitators,      administrators,      toy-makers,      surfers,      rocket-scientists,      computer programmers,   inventors,   Feldenkrais   practitioners,   massage   therapists,   chefs,   event planners,    mindfulness    practitioners,    psychotherapists,    social    workers,    university professors and many others.

Testimonials

"John's    workshop    and    his    delivery    were brilliant.   Being   able   to   play   spontaneously allowed   me   to   be   at   my   best   creatively.   It gave   me   the   opportunity   to   be   'present', feel,    let    my    ego    go    and    unearth    some amazing ideas." "John    Beale    is    a    skilled    and    engaging facilitator.    The    workshop    gave    me    new confidence   in   myself.   I   was   brought   back to   life   and   discovered   a   more   creative   me. I   laughed   often   and   harder   than   I   have   in a    long    time.    It    was    a    very    rewarding experience!" “It   seemed   as   if   whatever   plug   had   fallen out inside was reconnected.” “Thanks   for   guiding   me   through   one   of   the most   terrifying   and   exhilarating   moments in   my   adult   life.   I   very   much   appreciated your   guidance   during   the   last   two   days, and     have     certainly     found     some     new perspectives   that   I   would   want   to   pursue further.”
“Thanks      a      bunch      for      your      stellar workshop.   I   kind   of   feel   like   if   I   had   come to    take    a    zen    meditation    workshop    I wouldn't   have   made   nearly   the   progress towards   accepting   the   present   moment   as I   did   with   you   and   the   crew.   I   think   I   might have   a   closer   understanding   of   what   the Taoist mean by "non-doing" now. Thanks!” “What       a       stupendous       weekend!       I thoroughly   enjoyed   the   work,   managing   to stay   pretty   loose   (vulnerable)   as   we   leapt from   one   challenging   task   to   another.   I   do feel     I     made     some     real     headway     in discovering   "who   I   am"   i.e.   my   essence.   I surprised   myself!   Again,   thank   you   for   a most exhilarating experience."
"With this work people have to find a way of being beautiful and surprising... and by beautiful I mean being in the grip of pleasure or freedom." - Philippe Gaulier
